Saturday

Our last day in Zambia today before we move onto Zimbabwe. We had our second tournament in Zambia at Sosco, which went really well. So far I've been having a really great time it has been such a cool experience seeing the schools and meeting so many nice people. I'm missing you all so much and cannot wait to tell you all about my trip when I'm home, love you Mum, Dad and Teddy.

We started the day an hour later than planned as Dylan accidentally set the alarm for 5:30 instead of 4:30! Breakfast was at 5:30 and we had planned to shower before hand but we had to rush around to get ready instead. I enjoyed a warm hot chocolate and bowl of cornflakes, a great way to start the day. We left at 7:00 and drove with our kit to the tournament at Sosco school for the community clubs from the local area. We set up the pitches and created all the teams that had travelled in from 15 different clubs. We marked their hands with tipex so we could know their teams. We got started at 10:30 and I was assigned the job of referee on the sixth pitch of eight. I had Freya as my pitch manager helping sort tags and the teams that we needed to play our matches. I ended up refereeing 12-14 matches over about 3 hours and by the end of the day it was around 30 degrees! We then played the final at 2:00pm and Jasper refereed the 'under' final and Bronwyn refereed the 'overs'. They both did very well under pressure with over 400 people watching. After we got back in the mini-buses and drove back to camp, where we stopped for petrol and we got a treat from the petrol station. At the camp we sorted our donations so that we could decide which would stay in Lusaka with James, the leader of the tag rugby there and what we would be taking down in Livingstone. At this point we were all hungry so enjoyed some cheese sandwiches, crisps and veggies. We chilled out for the rest of the evening and I enjoyed a cold shower to cool off from a long day in the sun. At 7:30 we say down for dinner to a heart warming beef stroganoff with potatoes, rice and veggies. We also had the best dessert of the week, a sticky toffee putting with custard, and we got a chocolate bar lucky dip. England were playing at 11pm but I was too tired and hot after a day in the sun. So I had an early night sleep going to bed at 8:30pm, finishing our last day in Zambia at the lovely Eureka. Only 11 days left, missing you Mum, Dad, Freya and Nellie, looking forward to seeing you soon!

Sunday

Today we woke up at 5:30am, we drank hot chocolate and brought our bags to the coach ready for our long trip. Then we set out on our journey to the border. Roughly half way we stopped for a quick lunch of crisps and biscuits. Following that we dropped donation bags at Fawlty Towers in Livingstone, which we will be coming back to for our final stop. Then we got to the border where we went through immigration and crossed a bridge which went over Victoria Falls, before we then drove to the camp. We arrived at Sizinda camp which is so chill and calm, the grounds are peaceful and organised. Then we played volleyball and had an amazing dinner of roast potatoes, chicken, beef and vegetables. Over all a calm day with lots of relaxing, and the bus journey was not too bad!
